It’s like a hidden jungle in a cafe.
A cool and chill private place to retreat from the heat and away from the busy street. Once you step inside the courtyard of this old shabby shophouse, you’ll be amazed by the interiors and the atmosphere it brings. Famous for its authentic gourmet burgers and freshly ground coffee, this cafe-cum-art gallery is definitely a must-try in Melaka.

The Cafe
The combination of rustic decor, artworks and nature is the perfect description of this burger shophouse cafe. The main eating area is lit with the skylight and decorated with lush greens and vines crawling all over the place. Privacy and ambiance are perfect for a relaxing coffee or beer.
The place has a long waiting time (30 minutes) especially on weekends, but don’t let that put you off, it’s worth the visit.
The Baboon House is also a pet friendly restaurant.
The Food
Baboon cafe serves mainly gourmet burgers and perhaps it’s the best burgers in Melaka. The pork belly burger is the killer (the fats and cheese combo is sinfully perfect in every bite) and homemade lemongrass is a favorite. Burgers are averaged at RM 16-24 or 4-6 USD. The potato wedges were great too, crisp outside and wonderfully soft in the inside.
Aside from burgers and vegan options, they also serve breakfast meals and cakes. Best be early to avoid long waiting time at the reception.
